The highly respected futurist Ray Kurzweil predicts human level intelligence in AI in just 11 years, yep eleven years (2029)! We have to get AI (AGI) correct, because one mistake could be fatal for all of us. Even if we avoid Armageddon, there are still issues about distribution of wealth and power, weapons, dwindling job opportunities, bias, and the unforeseen ugly outcomes.
Having said that AI will be fantastic: they'll be amazing achievements in science, medicine, technology and innovation. It'll be great! - if we get it right.
