Today the world faces a common, and increasing, challenge: rising average global temperatures and significant climate change. The solution requires rapid, large scale, changes to infrastructure, energy management, industry, transport, and the management of land and water resources - globally! In terms of conventional wisdom this appears to be a paradox: is it really possible to make such widespread changes globally and rapidly, without significant disruptions to economies and societies? Probably not: a conventional approach might fail! If we are to succeed then an innovative approach will be paramount.
